Visa
The Government of Canada imposed visa requirement on Czech citizens traveling to Canada on Monday, July 13, 2009. While the Czech Republic responded immediately by adopting a visa requirement on Canadian diplomats, Canadian tourists are in no way affected by this decision and they may continue to travel to the Czech Republic without visas.
Canadian citizens do not require visa to travel to the Czech Republic for tourist purposes. As of May 1st, 2004, holders of valid Canadian passport can enter the Czech Republic for visits up to 90 days. During such a visit, Canadian tourists are prohibited from engaging in any kind of defrayeable employment. Passports must be valid for at least three months beyond the scheduled date of departure from the Czech Republic. For stays longer than 30 days, please ensure that you register with the local Foreigners Police Authority.
Please note however that the Law No. 326/1999 Coll., On the Stay of Foreigners, imposes in Para 5 letter a) to the foreigner crossing the border of the Czech Republic the obligation to submit, upon request of the customs officer, relevant documents confirming the pre-arranged accommodation, health insurance and financial funds sufficient for the period of stay envisaged. Person unable to comply with the requirements stated in the provision of the law mentioned above may be withheld from the entry of the country.

Literature lovers know Lipnice nad Sázavou as the place where author J. Hašek lived the last years of his life and where he wrote his most famous works, The Fateful Adventures of the Good Soldier Švejk. Its house with exhibits is located directly beneath a rocky ridge, on which one of the largest Czech castles was constructed at the beginning of the 14th century.
The main attraction of Kroměříž, the town nicknamed the Athens of Hanacko, is its archiepiscopal chateau, which along with the chateau gardens and flower gardens are on the UNESCO list of worldwide cultural and natural heritage sites. For hundreds of zears, the chateau served as a residence for the bishops of Olomouc, and a series of important events occurred within its walls. There are also many other sites worth seeing in Kroměříž, such as the pontifical mint, featuring a collection of church issued coins and medals, the Baroque Church of St. John the Baptist with its interior in Rococo style and the house with a Renaissance entrance section on Velké náměstí square, which houses exhibits of the Kroměříž Museum and a monument to Max Švabinský.
Rock, pop, jazz, metal, hip hop... Audiences at summer open-air festivals will enjoy these and other genres. The schedule of events taking place under the open sky this year is once again truly great, and music fans thus can look forward to an eventful summer.
